Workflow Example for your Data Quality Precheck.

Workflow Example: Data Quality Pre-Check

Use this workflow before board meetings, investor updates, or major internal reviews to ensure your numbers are reliable.

Use Case

You need retention or revenue metrics for a high-stakes presentation and want to avoid embarrassing data errors.

Prerequisites

  • A “master” customer or revenue sheet you plan to analyze.
  • Jetti sidebar open.

Steps

  1. Open the master sheet
    • Navigate to the Google Sheet you’ll use for your analysis.
  2. Run a Data Quality Scan (1–2 minutes)
    • In the Jetti sidebar, choose Data Quality.
    • Select the active sheet.
    • Click Scan.
    • Jetti computes:
      • Overall quality score
      • Missing values
      • Duplicates
      • Formatting issues
      • Outliers
  3. Review the report (2–3 minutes)
    • Check the overall score (e.g., 87/100).
    • Focus on:
      • High-severity issues (e.g., bad dates, broken IDs)
      • Medium-severity issues (e.g., duplicates)
    • Decide what must be fixed vs. what can be documented as known limitations.
  4. Fix critical issues (up to 5–10 minutes)
    • Correct duplicate IDs or clearly wrong values.
    • Fill or remove missing key fields (e.g., signup dates).
    • Note expected gaps (like sparse activity in early months).
  5. Re-scan to confirm
    • Run the Data Quality Scan again.
    • Confirm that the most critical issues are gone and the score improved.
  6. Run your main analyses
    • With higher confidence in your data, run:
      • Cohort Analysis for retention.
      • Snowball Analysis for revenue movement.
    • Use results directly in your deck.

What You Get

  • A documented data health check before sharing metrics.
  • Evidence you can show if someone questions data quality.
  • Fewer surprises in front of executives or investors.
