Workflow Example: Monthly Revenue Waterfall Review

Use this workflow to turn your monthly revenue update into a repeatable 15-minute routine.

Use Case

Each month you want to understand how MRR changed and communicate:

  • New MRR
  • Expansion (Growth)
  • Downgrades (Reduction)
  • Churn (Lost)
  • Reactivations (Return)

Prerequisites

  • A recurring Raw Data sheet with:
    • Customer ID
    • Date
    • Revenue or MRR
  • At least one saved Snowball Analysis configuration.

Steps

  1. Update your data (5 minutes)
    • Paste the latest month’s transactions into your Raw Data sheet,
or refresh/replace the source data file if you’re linking from Drive.
  2. Re-run the Snowball report (≤1 minute)
    • In the Jetti sidebar, open Saved Reports.
    • Select your Monthly Snowball configuration.
    • Click Run.
    • Jetti appends the new month to your existing waterfall table.
  3. Scan headline numbers (5 minutes)
    • For the latest month, note:
      • New MRR
      • Growth MRR
      • Reduction MRR
      • Lost MRR
      • Net change and ending MRR
    • Look for unusual spikes or dips.
  4. Drill down on anomalies (2–3 minutes)
    • Click the Lost, Reduction, or Growth cells for the latest period.
    • Use Drill-Down to see which customers:
      • Churned
      • Downgraded
      • Expanded
    • Export customer lists for CS or sales follow-up.
  5. Optional: generate AI commentary (2–3 minutes)
    • Open AI Export → Trend Analysis.
    • Specify the period and metric (e.g., “MRR, last 3 months”).
    • Copy the prompt into your AI tool to get a narrative summary for:
      • Monthly update emails
      • Internal Slack posts
      • Leadership reports

What You Get

  • A consistent monthly view of what drove net MRR change.
  • Customer-level lists behind each movement.
