Workflow Example: Monthly Revenue Waterfall Review
Use this workflow to turn your monthly revenue update into a repeatable 15-minute routine.
Use Case
Each month you want to understand how MRR changed and communicate:
- New MRR
- Expansion (Growth)
- Downgrades (Reduction)
- Churn (Lost)
- Reactivations (Return)
Prerequisites
- A recurring Raw Data sheet with:
- Customer ID
- Date
- Revenue or MRR
- At least one saved Snowball Analysis configuration.
Steps
- Update your data (5 minutes)
- Paste the latest month’s transactions into your Raw Data sheet,
or refresh/replace the source data file if you’re linking from Drive.
- Paste the latest month’s transactions into your Raw Data sheet,
- Re-run the Snowball report (≤1 minute)
- In the Jetti sidebar, open Saved Reports.
- Select your Monthly Snowball configuration.
- Click Run.
- Jetti appends the new month to your existing waterfall table.
- Scan headline numbers (5 minutes)
- For the latest month, note:
- New MRR
- Growth MRR
- Reduction MRR
- Lost MRR
- Net change and ending MRR
- Look for unusual spikes or dips.
- For the latest month, note:
- Drill down on anomalies (2–3 minutes)
- Click the Lost, Reduction, or Growth cells for the latest period.
- Use Drill-Down to see which customers:
- Churned
- Downgraded
- Expanded
- Export customer lists for CS or sales follow-up.
- Optional: generate AI commentary (2–3 minutes)
- Open AI Export → Trend Analysis.
- Specify the period and metric (e.g., “MRR, last 3 months”).
- Copy the prompt into your AI tool to get a narrative summary for:
- Monthly update emails
- Internal Slack posts
- Leadership reports
What You Get
- A consistent monthly view of what drove net MRR change.
- Customer-level lists behind each movement.
