Segment Performance Comp

Workflow Example for your Segment Performance Comparison.

Workflow Example: Segment Performance Comparison

Compare how different products, plans, or regions perform on retention and revenue.

Use Case

You want to know which segment is driving the most value and where churn is concentrated—for example, comparing product lines: Electronics vs. Apparel vs. Home.

Prerequisites

  • A transaction sheet with:
    • Customer ID
    • Date
    • Revenue
    • Segment column (e.g., ProductLine, Plan, Region)

Steps

  1. Open your transaction data
    • Use the sheet containing all customer transactions and segment labels.
  2. Start a segmented Snowball Analysis
    • In the Jetti sidebar, click New Report → Snowball Analysis.
    • Confirm columns:
      • UID → Customer ID
      • Date → Transaction date
      • Metric → Revenue
      • Segment → Product/plan/region column
  3. Configure the analysis
    • Time granularity: Monthly (common for MRR).
    • Date range: Past 6–24 months, depending on your history.
    • Ensure segment mode is enabled so Jetti creates separate waterfalls per segment.
  4. Run the report
    • Click Run Analysis.
    • Jetti generates a waterfall table with segment rows (e.g., one row per product line per period).
  5. Compare segments
    • For each segment, look at:
      • Ending MRR trend
      • Size of Growth vs. Lost
      • Net change per month
    • Identify:
      • Segments with high retention and expansion
      • Segments with frequent downgrades or churn
  6. Drill down on problem segments
    • Click the Lost or Reduction cells for underperforming segments.
    • Use Drill-Down to:
      • See which customers churned or downgraded.
      • Spot patterns (e.g., short tenure, specific plan).
  7. Turn findings into action
    • Share lists with product, CS, or marketing.
    • Prioritize interventions (e.g., improve onboarding for a weak segment).
    • Re-run the same segmented analysis monthly to track progress.

What You Get

  • Clear visibility into which segments drive growth and which bleed revenue.
  • Concrete customer lists for targeted campaigns.
  • A repeatable template for product or plan performance reviews.
